Tenlog TL D3 is an exciting printer because of its dual material printing feature. I can also print two identical or symmetrical models using the same filament of either similar or different colors. The independent dual extruder allows me to perform beyond traditional printing and print water-soluble supports. The printer comes with high-quality accessories like a color touch screen, multi, language interface, robust interface, and silent printing features that enhance the printing process and quality.

Set up is relatively straight forward but might be a bit challenging for novices. Although the glass print bed has a good adhesive surface with automatic leveling for easy calibration, the print bed is uneven and slightly affects printing performance. Calibrating the print heads is a bit complicated but once done properly, I got some pretty impressive prints and I didn’t notice any warping or print artifacts.

Tenlog TL-D3 Pro uses dual extrusion, meaning you can either print with two colors/materials seamlessly or print duplicates simultaneously. Both extruders are direct drive, meaning they work well with flexible filaments. With direct drive extrusion and a heated print bed, this printer comfortably handles a variety of filaments, including PLA, ABS, TPU, and PETG. This is also a large machine that offers a significant print volume, achieves layers as small as 100microns and prints at average speeds around 30-60mm/s. Don’t be fooled by lackluster print resolution, however. With some tweaking, this printer is capable of excellent results. The printer connects using either a tethered USB or an SD card. The printer also includes a huge 4.3” color touchscreen, which makes interacting with the TL-D3 a pleasure.
