Description

Voxelab Aquila X2 3D Printer

Voxelab Aquila X2 is a fully metal framed 3D Printer and is an upgrade of the original Aquila. With the large display screen of Voxelab Aquila X2, you can control your printer’s settings and select your preferred printing file easily. It comes with the 220 x 220 x 250 mm Aquila X2 build volume and is designed to be able to heat up in just 5 minutes in order to start printing your 3D models.

The filament runout detection is common which stops the extrusion process automatically and you will have to change the filament to continue printing. Featuring a smooth adjustable pulley, quiet stepper motors, and a 32-bit motherboard, you will enjoy a noiseless printing experience with this printer.

The heated bed of the Aquila X2 is covered with tempered glass. Your 3D prints will be less prone to warping if you use a flat glass surface on your heated bed. Voxelab’s Aquila X2 has a portable handle to make moving it between locations easier.

Using the manual instructions given with the printer, you can assemble it in 10-20 minutes if you’ve never assembled a 3D printer before. The belt tension on your printer can be easily adjusted by simply twisting the wheels rather than unscrewing the tensioner.

FAQs

What filament does Voxelab Aquila use?

Considering the temperature of the hot end, the Aquila can be used with only three commonly used FDM 3D printer filaments PLA, ABS, and PETG.

Does the Voxelab Aquila C2 have a heated bed?

Yes, Voxelab Aquila C2 has a replaceable build heated bed above the 220 x 220 x 250mm build volume.

How much electricity does a Voxelab Aquila use?

Power consumption at idle is approximately 9 Watts. It draws about 240W when the heat bed and hot end are heating up. During printing, power consumption stabilizes at 90W.

How fast can an Aquila print?

Voxelab Aquila C2  prints at 180 mm/s maximum. However, 50 mm/s is the ideal speed.

This printer comes when the base and the Y axis are assembled. While silent stepper drivers are a good addition, I don’t like the loud cooling fans and limited native software support. Regardless, the printer is equipped with a filament runout detector in-line and an extruder module that identifies interruptions and pauses the print. The sensor also allows me to print confidently, knowing the printer will pause before it fails.

It’s a great 3D printer for beginners. The detailed assembly manual make set up and operation very easy. Print quality is impressive and consistent. Unfortunately, there is no automatic leveling function but prints adhere nicely to the heated bed and are easily removed when cooled. The printer is very quiet when I’m operation but the fans are pretty loud. However, the overall performance is great.

It comes in a partially-built state, with the base of the printer and Y-axis already assembled and with silent stepper drivers and a large color LCD screen. Assembling doesn’t require drilling, soldering, or electrical work, and the included printed User Manual covers each step in detail. It uses a Bowden extruder which remotely feeds material through a PTFE tube to the hot end during printing. Voxelab has included a filament run-out sensor in-line with the extruder module, which can detect interruptions and pause the print. While using the printer, this sensor allowed me to print with confidence knowing the machine would pause before failing, giving me time to swap in a new spool of material. The X and Y-axes feature a tensioning knob at the end of their respective extrusions. The hot end module contains two fans: a part cooling fan mounted on the right that blows cool air over the printed module and a heat break cooling fan mounted over the hot end.
